At Leah’s Lactation and Tongue-Tie Services, I strive to provide the highest standard of care for you and your baby. Your feedback is vital to the safety and quality of my service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your experience, I encourage you to let me know so I can put it right.

How To Make A Complaint

If you have a concern, please contact me directly via email at leahlactationandtonguetie@outlook.com. I aim to resolve most concerns informally through a conversation. If you wish to make a formal complaint, please follow the process below:

Step 1: Acknowledgement

I will acknowledge your formal complaint in writing within 2 working days of receipt.

Step 2: Investigation I will carry out a full investigation into the matters raised. This may involve reviewing clinical notes and, if necessary, speaking with any other healthcare professionals involved in the care pathway (with your consent).

Step 3: Response

I will provide a formal written response within 20 working days. This letter will outline the findings of the investigation, any actions taken as a result, and an apology where appropriate.

Step 4: Independent Review

If you are not satisfied with my local resolution, you may seek an independent review. As a private practitioner, I am a member of:

  • The ATP (Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners): While they don’t settle financial disputes, they can review clinical practice.
  • The NMC: If the complaint is about my fitness to practice as a midwife, you can go directly to the NMC.
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC)- While the CQC does not settle individual consumer disputes or complaints, they are the regulator for health and social care in England. You can share your experience of my service with them at any time:

Website: www.cqc.org.uk/share-your-experience or via telephone: 03000 616161.
